Sound and Lighting Design Team

Setting the scene with lights and soundThe Sound and Lighting Design Team is responsible for the creation of the proper worship atmosphere for Sunday services or special programs and events through the use of sound and lighting equipment.

Responsiblities:

  • Ensures that every spoken word or musical note can be heard clearly and at the appropriate volume level in every area of the sanctuary or meeting place.
  • Record the worship service for mass distribution. This involves managing the CD and DVD inventory, labeling CDS and DVDs, and duplicating.
     
  • Program and operate the church's new intelligent lighting system to create whatever atmosphere is needed for worship services, music, or drama.
     
  • Operate Power Point.

Technical experience in sound or lighting is helpful, but team members can be trained in a few weeks. Commitment involves time for training and keeping up with the changes in the sound and lighting systems. Also, on your designated Sunday you may have to arrive at church an hour early to rehearse with special music and test all systems.
